The remarkable history of Mehr Dastgir Group goes back to 1860's ,when one renowned gentleman of, the small town, Multan named Mr. Imam Buksh started trading of leather. With his hard work and honesty, which are still the most prominent qualities of the group, he established his brand and then he expanded the business by opening the first tannery in the region, named M.Muzaffar-ud-din Tannery . His son, Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Muzaffar-ud-din continued the glorious traditions set by his father and soon captured the market of lower Punjab. He earned unmatchable respect in the business community of that time. His son, Mr. Khawaja Ghulam Dastgir, who following the traditions of honesty, innovation and hard work, set by his forefathers, expanded the tannery by using the latest technology available at that time, carried his traditions.
This step established the name of M.Muzaffar-ud-din Tannery all over Pakistan. The traits of excellency, honesty, hard work, commitment, experience and innovation were carried successfully by three sons of Mr. Khawaja Ghulam Dastgir named Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Yunus, Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Yousuf (Chairman) and Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Abdullah (Managing Director), who not only continued the existing business of forefathers but also expanded it to textile mills, insurance company, trading companies and cargo company. For the fact of harmony, all the properties of group were named as MEHR DASTGIR in 1989 which lead to the birth of new legend. |
